FIAT “Body Paint” Print Ad in ESPN's Annual Body Issue

A behind-the-scenes look at pulling together one of the most complex, ambitious and beautiful body paint photos you've ever seen. FIAT Brand North America unveils a one-of-a-kind print ad this week when it debuts “Body Paint” in this year’s annual ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue. The visually stunning print ad features more than a dozen female artists, models and contortionists to recreate the image of a Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio. The annual edition of ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue (07/22) will be on newsstands starting Wed., July 10.

“‘Body Paint’ allowed us to take part in a unique collaboration with a multinational sports company that connects the FIAT brand with sports and car enthusiasts across the globe,” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, Chrysler Group LLC, and Fiat Group Automobiles Head of Fiat Brand.

“Our ideal execution is when a client creates an ad that works so well within the context of our environment,” said Eric Johnson, ESPN executive vice president, multimedia sales. “Not only is this a creative win, it thematically ties in perfectly with ESPN The Magazine’s annual Body Issue.”

"We wanted to create a concept for ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue that was as visually unique as the Fiat 500 Abarth Cabrio," said Jason Stoicevich, Head of FIAT Brand North America. "The notion of the 'Body Paint' print ad conveying athletic grace in a magazine that specifically devotes itself to covering athletes around the world sparked a perfect union for the FIAT Brand."

  • Two Sexy New Commercials For The Fiat 500

Two Sexy New Commercials For The Fiat 500

Two new ads for the Fiat 500 Abarth, above is the spot "Topless" for the Cabrio model that features a lovely young lady enjoying the beach and a scorpion (what else would you expect) that cunningly unties her bikini top. The tagline for the Fiat 500c Abarth spot — small, wicked and now topless.

Below is the "Test Track" spot which is billed as the only electric that turns “you” on, the ad shows a female test-driver entering the passenger's side of the vehicle, then the car whips around a curve, losing control. The crew rushes to her rescue only to find her and the driver in a very precarious position. The new Fiat 500e: environmentally sexy.

Fiat's "Seduction" Super Bowl commercial is still our favorite, see it HERE.

  • New Fiat 500 Ad Features A Love Struck Kimberly Sharing Her Environmentally Sexy Story

New Fiat 500 Ad Features A Love Struck Kimberly Sharing Her Environmentally Sexy Story

In this testimonial for Environmentally Sexy we meet Kimberly, a mainstream, attractive American who hit the romance jackpot in her new match Fabrizio, an Italian eco-‐fashion model. Although clearly in love with the down-‐to-‐earth Fabrizio and their life together in a solar-‐powered love nest, we learn the sexiest thing about Fabrizio is actually not his looks, but his all-‐electric FIAT® 500e that's just like him: shaped by fine Italian lines and powered by a heart of green.

Uh am I the only one who thinks this ad really makes American women like Kimberly look stupid and oh I don't know...desperate? If anything it did make me laugh, still not buying a Fiat 500 though.

  • Leica Alma — Award Winning "Soul" Short Film

Leica Alma — Award Winning "Soul" Short Film

The movie Alma (in English, “Soul”) – made by Brazilian production company Sentimental Filme – has just won two awards at the prestigious D&AD competition, in London. This brings the tally of international prizes to 12 for this short film conceived by advertising agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi.

The first Leica brand campaign in Brazil, the film is part of the launch activities for the German camera maker’s unique concept store in the country – in São Paulo – and features the new M Monochrom digital camera designed to produce stunning photos in black and white.

Alma won for Best Direction and for Cinematography in the Film Advertising Crafts' category with accolades for Vellas and André Faccioli respectively. "The D&AD is possibly one of the hardest prizes to win. The level is very high and the festival showcases many films from all around the world made by influential production companies and filmed by top directors. Just being nominated for a D&AD was something incredible for us, but to win two golden pencils [the statues based on the British awards symbol] was really beyond our expectations and very gratifying. Really amazing", said the director Vellas. This year Brazilian productions bagged four of the coveted D&AD pencil trophies.

Between wars and loves, this is an engaging story of a photographer narrated from the unusual point of view of his own camera. In black and white, the movie sports unconventional angles and, sometimes, deliberately blurred images, as if the camera was held in the actual hand or slung round the neck of the photographer himself.

Hopes are now high that following the film’s success at D&AD Alma will be in the running at the prestigious Cannes Lions 2013, which take place from 16 to 22 June.

    The production company...
In 11 years of creative activity, Sentimental Filme has become one of the most important advertising film producers from Brazil. Winner of several national and international awards, including a Bronze Lion at Cannes, three Clio Awards, and two One Show prizes, the company also has a division that produces content for TV, internet, entertainment, interactive advertising, corporate communications and new media. Its major clients include Fiat, Ford, Panasonic, Volkswagen, Visa, Procter & Gamble and AB Imbev.
