CWTV is bringing the 90's back with Stupid Hype, a hilarious live-action web series that screams 90's nostalgia. In the 90's, hip hop was all about color, flash and funky fresh beats, from parachute pants to dope dance moves.
In the latest ad promoting the show, "Let's Get Laid" (no that isn't a typo) Stupid Hype chronicles the (mis)adventures of Hype, played by Hart of Dixie Star's Wilson Bethel, who after a tragic breakdancing accident, becomes a rising rap star in 1990. The series features original music from Bethel and his super-producer brother Charlie Bethel, aka Chuck Wild, and is directed by Dugan O'Neal. Look for guests appearance from legendary hip hop icons Flavor Fav and even more Vanilla Ice-esque beats in coming episodes.
Stupid Hype is sponsored by Windows 8 and airs on CWTV.com every Tuesdays. To watch full episodes of the web only series you can check it out here.

Microsoft launches another ad campaign today promoting Internet Explorer 10 with this new commercial entitled "Do You Know This Guy" along with a microsite The Browser You Love To Hate.
In other Microsoft ad spotting, check out their attack ad, Scroogled as Bing still tries to take on Google, see it HERE .
Microsoft today launched a "Don’t Get Scroogled" ad campaign with a web video ad and a website asking people to share stories of bad Google search results. Sadly, this attack ad on Google will back fire, early results seem to be bad for Bing and Microsoft as most comments on their Facebook page and YouTube (ironically funny as the video is uploaded on said Scroogler owned YouTube) are favoring Google, looks like Microsoft Scroogled themselves again.
The website reads:
In the beginning, Google preached, “Don’t be evil“—but that changed on May 31, 2012. That’s when Google Shopping announced a new initiative. Simply put, all of their shopping results are now paid ads. In their under-the-radar announcement, Google admits they’ve now built “a purely commercial model” that delivers listings ranked by “bid price.” Google Shopping is nothing more than a list of targeted ads that unsuspecting customers assume are search results.
The attack ad is too much, with comments like “Google > Bing… Attack ads just show how desperate they are for users” and “Bing is hopeless.. negative marketing will get you nowhere.” You can check out the Scroogled ad above and decide for yourself.
See how the Abominable Snow Monster of the North Pole (he prefers Bumble) uses Live Tiles to get the information he wants on his new Windows Phone in this commercial, oh and he's big on speed dating.
Microsoft is pumping out a few Windows 8-powered SmartPhone TV ads featuring celebrities Gwen Stefani and Jessica Alba, all part of the Microsoft's "Meet the new Windows Phone, Reinvented Around You" ad campaign (spots below).
In another parody/spoof ad that can be filed under better than the real ads, comes this commercial created by Cinesaurus entitled Surface vs. iPad. The parody spot is obviously favoring heavily on Microsoft's side as the Surface tablet gives the iPad a good old beating techy style.

Surface, Microsoft's first promo video created by 22 year old Caleb Slain, a relative unknown in the ad world, might just have Microsoft snubbing their major ad agency partners: Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Deutsch or Razorfish, again in the future after the success of the video (6 million+ views to date).
Caleb Slain said, "I've had no direct contact within the agencies at all, ours was originally supposed to be a product showcase by myself and Keith Rivers." Rivers produced the video.
"We just wanted to make the most awesome, badass video possible, so that when we gave it back to Microsoft they would either love it or we would never work for them again."

Not bad for a video that was originally created just to show people in the trade how the product looks.
Siri does all the talking in Microsoft's latest Apple bashing spot for it's Windows 8 tablet. Apple's voice assistant apologies for not being able to run certain programs and perform functions..."I'm sorry, I don't update like that," she says. "I'm sorry, I can only do one thing at a time." Let's hope we've seen the last of the attack ads from Microsoft for a while.
