Nissan Extrem New Concept Sports Car Gets Tough On The Streets

Nissan gets tough on the streets with their new concept sports car "Extrem". Nissan captured the vibrancy, color and excitement of Brazil with EXTREM, a radical car aimed squarely at the young (and young-at-heart) car enthusiasts keen to make a statement on the roads. Press below.

    • First concept car from Nissan designed specifically for Brazil
    • Design reflects the color and passion of the country
    • A new urban compact sports car that's exotic yet attainable
    • Rugged and agile 2+2 with distinctive color treatment

EXTREM has been created especially for Brazil. It has been designed for and built in the country and has its world debut at the 27th São Paulo International Motor Show (October 24 – November 4).

"Brazil is a country of great natural beauty and it has a passionate, rich culture. But this is not always reflected in the cars on its streets, especially the more affordable locally produced vehicles which tend to be conservative in design, color and specification," said Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer.

"EXTREM, with a dynamic, high-character design, is far from conservative. It was created to appeal to the country's growing band of city-based young professionals who are passionate about design and want to make a personal statement. The lightweight two-door 2+2, has a dynamic stance, fresh surfacing, and a clear rugged ability to tackle the urban jungle everyday," he added.

Designed by Nissan Design America (NDA) in San Diego, California, in collaboration with Brazilian designers and produced in Brazil, the concept previews a new breed of car. By blending versatility and toughness with the agility of a compact 2+2, EXTREM is a new genre of urban compact sports car.

Its unveiling at the São Paulo Motor Show underscores Nissan's commitment to Brazil. The country is one of the largest new car markets in the world and one in which Nissan enjoys significant sales growth. The company claimed almost two per cent of the 2011 market, doubling its 2010 sales, and aims to account for five per cent of new car sales in Brazil by 2016. via NissanNews.com | USA

  • Billboard — The End Of The Silent Magazine

Billboard — The End Of The Silent Magazine

The first music magazine in the world that plays the music you are reading about. That’s the idea of the project created and developed by the Ogilvy Brazil and its digital team to make a difference for its client Billboard.

Now, the readers would just need to touch their mobile phones over the Billboard’s cover and listen to a top list of music bands Billboard is talking about in that edition. How? No app downloads, no QR codes, no Bluetooth and 100% wireless.

The shopper only needs to carry modern mobile with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology that comes in almost all new models. The secret of the action is a NFC sticker behind the cover that transmits the music to the consumers with a single touch.

After a period of tests in selected newsstands and bookstores in Sao Paulo, Billboard Brazil publishers are now ready to change the music magazine as we know in a large scale. Readers have just become listeners.

Santa Talks To Kids Via A Magical Payphone

Beautiful new campaign for Orelhão Mágico keeps the spirit of Santa Claus alive for a some lucky children in Brazil who came across this Magic Payphone.

Oi, a telecom provider from Brazil, is hoping to make everyone believe in the magic of Christmas one more time. That’s why it created the Magical Payphone, a device that connected kids with Santa Claus. Installed in Rio de Janeiro, the special payphone was available to kids walking by with their parents. Once they made the call, the kids would chat with Santa, who were actually two retired actors from Retiro dos Artistas (an institution that takes care of former artists). But it was much more than a telephone call. Big surprises were prepared for the kids: lost elf's, gifts and even a mapped projection with snow and a choir of kids. Everything to make a great experience for the children and everyone watching.

Hellmann's Goes With Anything — The Food Slot

To prove that Hellmann's goes with anything, Ogilvy Brazil created the Food Slot. In supermarkets chains, grocery stores and bars around Brazil, consumers are being invited to pull the lever of a slot machine that randomly combines different ingredients in the display.

For each one of the random 280 combinations the machine gives the shoppers a collectible recipe and a hot and fresh delicious food sample made with the real mayonnaise.

From Lasagna to Beef Ragout, from Wrap Ratattouile to Spicy Burritos, the most unexpected meals made with Hellmann's were included in the game "menu", to guarantee that every time the shoppers play, the experience would be different. The lucky ones could

Four months of research and development were necessary to guarantee both the perfect system and quality of the food, a mission taken by the Unilever's head chefs and the engineers and tech team of the production company, Hungry Man Projects.

    Coffee Bean Braille by Starbucks

To promote Starbucks’ new Braille menus in Brazil, Sao Paulo-based ad agency Rai created a special version that is spelled out with actual coffee beans.
This menu not only helps vision-impaired costumers make their orders, but also allows everyone to enjoy their coffee, “from the tip of the fingers to the tip of the tongue”.
The coffee beans are stuck onto what looks like an over-sized Starbucks napkin, which is another clever detail of this brilliant ad.

  • Leica Alma — Award Winning "Soul" Short Film

Leica Alma — Award Winning "Soul" Short Film

The movie Alma (in English, “Soul”) – made by Brazilian production company Sentimental Filme – has just won two awards at the prestigious D&AD competition, in London. This brings the tally of international prizes to 12 for this short film conceived by advertising agency F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi.

The first Leica brand campaign in Brazil, the film is part of the launch activities for the German camera maker’s unique concept store in the country – in São Paulo – and features the new M Monochrom digital camera designed to produce stunning photos in black and white.

Alma won for Best Direction and for Cinematography in the Film Advertising Crafts' category with accolades for Vellas and André Faccioli respectively. "The D&AD is possibly one of the hardest prizes to win. The level is very high and the festival showcases many films from all around the world made by influential production companies and filmed by top directors. Just being nominated for a D&AD was something incredible for us, but to win two golden pencils [the statues based on the British awards symbol] was really beyond our expectations and very gratifying. Really amazing", said the director Vellas. This year Brazilian productions bagged four of the coveted D&AD pencil trophies.

Between wars and loves, this is an engaging story of a photographer narrated from the unusual point of view of his own camera. In black and white, the movie sports unconventional angles and, sometimes, deliberately blurred images, as if the camera was held in the actual hand or slung round the neck of the photographer himself.

Hopes are now high that following the film’s success at D&AD Alma will be in the running at the prestigious Cannes Lions 2013, which take place from 16 to 22 June.

    The production company...
In 11 years of creative activity, Sentimental Filme has become one of the most important advertising film producers from Brazil. Winner of several national and international awards, including a Bronze Lion at Cannes, three Clio Awards, and two One Show prizes, the company also has a division that produces content for TV, internet, entertainment, interactive advertising, corporate communications and new media. Its major clients include Fiat, Ford, Panasonic, Volkswagen, Visa, Procter & Gamble and AB Imbev.
